Installing windows 7 on a seperate hard drive?
February 28th, 2009 Posted by: admin
Ok so i am highly anticipating the official release of the new windows 7 beta tommorow. I have 1 hard drive in my computer right now with vista 32-bit on it, but i just purchased a new seagate barracuda on which i plan to install the beta. My question is how do i go about doing this? Step by step instructions please. Remember the second hard drive will be brand new with nothing ever on it. So basically i want to keep my vista on the first drive and install the beta on my brand new second drive. Help??

I use Mac, Windows, and Linux. What is the best file-system to format my external hard drive with?
February 28th, 2009 Posted by: admin
So I just switched to Mac and that is what Imostly use Mac, but when things get hairy I heavily lean on Windows to troubleshoot, etc. Linux is something I’m progressively getting into.
1 CommentAnyway…. I formatted my external hard drive with hfs+ (Mac file system) only to find out it is next to no support on Windows or Mac. NTFS works on Windows but it doesn’t work at all on Mac. So I’m asking what the best file-system to format my external hard drive with that would work out the best.

What is the best way to hook up outdoor speakers to my computer?
February 28th, 2009 Posted by: admin
My computer is on the second floor of my house and my stereo is on the first floor in the living room. I was planning on buying some outdoor speakers and just running a wire from the computer out the window on the second floor and hooking is to the Speakers mounted under the eaves on my back deck. Will the computer have enough power to push to speaker, it will probably be 30 or 40 feet of wire. I dont want to spend a whole lot of money either.

Best external hard drive for a laptop?
February 28th, 2009 Posted by: admin
It has the USB ports, so that’s not an issue. More or less, I’d be using the external hard drive to back up very important data/documents that I need for the future/can not live without, including pictures, attorney/court documents, various finance spreadsheets and other important files.
2 CommentsIs it possible to briefly hook up the external hard drive to my laptop for the sake of having the hard copy of files on said hard drive to clear up memory on my laptop, or must I have the external hard drive constantly hooked up?
