How long will it take to fill a 640MB CD with the provided information?

A typist can type 60 words a minute continuously with no stopping to rest. How long will it take the typist to fill a CD that has a capacity of 640MB? Assume that the average word size is 5 characters, there is one space between each word and the information is stored in ASCII

Hard Drive burst into flames, now what?

My HDD stopped working a while ago and I was trying to get my computer to detect it, out of nowhere it seemed, the drive flared up and almost burned me, and released some smoke. Luckily nothing caught on fire but it was really surprising to me. The question is, now what can I do? Seagate/Maxtor the manufacturer of my drive has no contact email or phone number. I had important data on the drive. I’ve discovered the specific part of the drive that flared up and smoked was something called the “Combo chip”. Perhaps my data, or some of it is still ok? Only the combo chip is burnt, and a little bit around the area.

How do combine two partitions on one external hd?

I have windows xp on all 3 machines that I use. I have a spare hd from my laptop. I have purchased a shell for it. It is now a 37gb external usb hard drive. I want it fully formated. I have no se for ANYTHING on this drive at all. I would like to combine the 2 partitions. Either I am fairly dumb or my Win Xp is different than everyone elses. Will someone please give me step by step instructions on how to combine the two hd’s. I do NOT want to purchase any programs to do this, i have seen a way in xp however I just can’t seem to get it right. Thanks for your help!

I just burned a movie onto a DVD+RW Disc.But when I put the disc into my DVD player or PC neither recogize it

I used Sonic MyDVD Plus to burn a movie onto a DVD +RW disc, which can be used for video. When i put the disc into my dvd player (I looked it up and my DVD player should be able to play DVD +RW discs) it didn’t recogize it. Also, when I put the disc into my PC (HP Pavilion a1560n) and used any software that can play regular dvd’s (Such as Media Center) it says there is no DVD in the drive. In addition, as soon as i insert the DVD into either my dvd player or computer, it makes odd noices. This is my first time burning video on DVD +RW discs, so please help! Thanks!
They are home-movies, not copied DVDS.
