So I have just got a 75GB hard drive and I want to also put my old 20GB in as well (I know its garbage) But my 20GB has Windows XP + a lot of programs that I have just finished installing on my 75GB (This also includes XP). Will this make me have 2 of each program or will they over write and delete or do I wipe the old drive out by deleting everything on it (If there is a way). So let me know and if there is a way on deleting everything on the 20GB please post how also.
Also I do have 2 Hard Drive slots just to let you know
- Thanks in Advance.
Also may I add, What do I have to do besides install the 20GB to get it to work?

Hi. building my first computer. got my stuff today. Got an EVGA 680i mobo. It came w/ an IDE cable. MY hard drive is SATA, but my DVD drive is IDE. Do I just use the IDE cable that came w/ the mobo? In the manual it only talks about using the IDE cable for a hard drive. It also came w/ SATA cables, so im good in the SATA department. Thanks.

More Details, The Cd Rom does show up under my Computer as drive D:/ When you open the drive door is does accept the cd and it will play music cd’s. It just will not run data from a program such as D:setup.exe. The drivers are in place and the system hardware manager shows the drive name, under drive properties, it shows that the drive is enabled and working properly. But it ain’t working. All programs that I try to install just sit there. Thanks for all your help, but we haven’t hit on the problem yet. I think it is a simple little windows xp thing, but I haven’t found it yet. All suggestions would be appreciated.

I just got my first, and I just need to know if it will harm the USB port or the hard Drive itself, I would rather not use my internal hard drive as it only has 67GB total, yeah I got screwed over with that.
My computer is an HP Pavilion a410e Built in Jan. 2004, If this helps.

I bought a new PC today that is running Vista. The primary hard drive on this PC is a SATA drive. There is an IDE input in the computer. I have an IDE drive that I want to install as a secondary slave drive for file storage. The drive already has data on it. I plugged it in and the system recognized the drive but it did not appear in my COMPUTER section as an available drive.
I went into Drive manager and attempted to initialize the drive and add a letter to it, but as soon as I did that it started formatting the drive!! I tried to make it stop but it wouldn’t so I had to reboot.
Now the drive letter appears with my available drives but it still wants me to format the drive! Am I confused? Does “format” not mean what I think? If I let it format the drive will my info still be there and will it read it like a normal drive?
On my last computer when I added the second drive it just appeared like magic and was easy to use. This is a real pain in the ****!!!!

Two months ago I was in a single car accident and was ticketed for reckless driving. I went to court and received a $165 fine and that was it. Just today, I receive a letter saying my drivers license has been revoked until January 8th, which is 3 months. Can they do this? I was never informed of this in court. I live in Kansas by the way. Thank you.

I’m going to buy a external hard drive and am thinking about a dvd drive (likely with light scribe if it makes a differance). I was wondering if they can both go in the external case or will I need to install the dvd into the comupter case? The external harddrive is one with a fan and a 320 seagate inside. Thanks for any info!
