My new hard drive will not boot from a CD whats wrong with it?
December 6th, 2009 Posted by: admin
My brother formatted it (b/c the HDD ran out of space on the C:// drive and it just would not boot from a CD) with the intention of putting an OS system on it, but even that won’t work…
1 Commentwhat in the world is wrong with the HDD??? its a new 500GB one which I am now using as an “external” because it has no OS…
Could it have something to do with the BIOS, I mean… my bro noticed that two of its leads were soldered together!!!
What is it?????

Hard Drive is making noises when I’m online ?
November 29th, 2009 Posted by: admin
My hard drive is making a grinding noise, but when I was reformatting the C drive, it was perfectly fine, I tried virus scan, and others but I don’t know what could be wrong, I downloaded something on Ares but I deleted it, but the drive is still persisting only when I’m doing something and about 5 minutes after I turn my computer one.
3 CommentsA green light on the floppy disk goes on right before the noise comes.
anyone please help?
i didnt reformat it actually, i did an error check.
but its strange during that error check which took an hour, no grinding noise whatsoever.

October 20th, 2009 Posted by: admin
I am missing about half the hard drive space from my C: drive and about a third from the additional SATA internal drive…and this is AFTER completely reformatting the drives. I don’t know what kind of hidden data could be taking up this space….any suggestions?

External hard drive used to free internal hd space?
October 16th, 2009 Posted by: admin
I have copied my music and photo files to my external drive. Do I now simply delete them from the C drive to free up space? Will Windows and other programs automatically find these items in the new drive or must I direct them to look there? Would cut and paste be a better method of transfer to avoid duplication for new data?

October 9th, 2009 Posted by: admin
I just bought an external hard drive for extra space. I want to transfer a few programs and files from my c-drive to the external drive. Is there a way to do this without uninstalling the programs and reinstalling them on the new drive?

NAS enclosures for external hard disc drives?
October 3rd, 2009 Posted by: admin
I wanted to find a way to share my external hard drive via my wireless router, and it seems that the best way to go is to buy a network-atteched-storage enclosure. Have any of you done this? How or where do you access the HDD in Windows? (I assume it will no longer appear in “my computer” next to C: drive)
