Why wont windows and other programs recognize my GSA-H22L drive as light scribe?

I have tried all the dummy stuff so don’t post he obvious stuff! I am using Nero 7 label maker and it is light scribe compatible but windows just sees the drive as a normal dvd rw drive HELP ME

DVD Drive Acting Crazy?

I came home from school today, and as usual, I turned on my laptop PC. Once it was on, the DVD tray was popped out. I saw it and pushed it back in, but after less than ten seconds, the tray popped itself out again. I tried to close it and I did, but again it opens in about ten seconds. It’s a cycle. I really want to stop this. Please help!

Will it be o.k. the next time I turn on my computer, or there’s actions I should take? Anything is highly appreciated and ten points will go to the best answers as well as a “thumbs up” to all those who answer.

By the way, I went to Control Panel and opened the Device Manager to check my DVD drive status and it said that it was working correctly. I usually know how to fix computer stuff but have never come across a problem such as this one.

Why does my CD/DVD drive make grinding noises and work only for CDs not DVDs?

My Dell laptop use to run both CDs and DVDs. Now it makes grinding noises when it runs and can only read CDs and not DVDS.

how do i upgrade my cd-rom drive to a dvd-rom drive?

i want to play a game that needs a dvdrom 16x

i have a cdrom with at least 8x i think

how do i upgrade from a dvd to cd for my computer
where could i go to have this done (ie geek squad?)

also how much would it cost?
i checked, it is a 48x speed
also is a dvd rom just able to read more off a cd that a cd rom
how would i supplement the cd drive? and is the dvd player thing different than a dvd player for the tv

my macbook dvd/cdrom drive spits out the CD/DVD all the time?

my macbook used to play the any disc i put in, be it dvd or cd or blank dvd or blank CD but since i burnt a tv show onto disc, or maybe copied something off a CD, i cant remember, it takes in discs,, whirls up,, then stops tries again and fails and spits it out without recognising it.. How do i resolve this?

Can I burn DVDs with a CD-Rom Drive and a DVD+RW drive?

I have a computer that was built my someone else and i blew the the motherboard?

the moterboard is albatron kx400 8xv and i don’t know if this is older model or up to date so, what i am trying to find out is what brand of motherboard should i get that is more updated if this one not also it has 2 hard drives which are maxtor one is a 120 hd and the other is 140 hd plus a drive d 8x and drive e 48x i the drive d 8x is a dvd rom drive and i don’t quite know the other is but what i want to know is what kind of motherboard do i get for the case and i have to reload os, i would guess since i blew the motherboad. so, can someone with the knowledge of computers please tell me what i need i also want to make it compatible with the windows professional x64 edition so, if u need more details as to the computer feel free to ask or send email at cboutee@yahoo.com thanks for your help

Need help playing DVD’s on my PC?

Hi! I’ve recently just bought a USB External CD/DVD drive for my netbook because it doesn’t have an internal one. The first time I tried to put a DVD on however it says “Windows Media Player cannot play this disk because you do not have a decoder” - or something like that. So my question is…what is a decoder and how do I buy one for cheap/download one for free.
