CD/RW to DVD/R or DVD/RW?

Curious. Have heard so much about “emulators” lately. I have a CD/RW drive and a CD/R drive installed, along with 2 hard-drives, 1- 120gb, 1- 80gb. Is there one that I can download and use to play DVD movies on my computer, without going out and buying a DVD/R or DVD/RW drive?

my drive says that I have a DVD/CD-RW. Can I burn DVDs or just CD or can I do both? I bought a DVD-R blank dvd and my Vista Home Basic doesnt read it. I have reinstalled Vista about 3 times and I still have the same problem.

I am wanting to be able to burn files to dvds with it. I have a Dell XP Desktop. Would that drive work/fit with my desktop and how would setup work? Also, how does that lightscribe labeler work (do you need something special for that such as ink or do you just stick a regular dvd in there)?

Use the IDE cable that came w/ my 680i mobo to install my DVD/RW drive?

Hi. building my first computer. got my stuff today. Got an EVGA 680i mobo. It came w/ an IDE cable. MY hard drive is SATA, but my DVD drive is IDE. Do I just use the IDE cable that came w/ the mobo? In the manual it only talks about using the IDE cable for a hard drive. It also came w/ SATA cables, so im good in the SATA department. Thanks.

Can’t copy files off DVD RW, why?

I’m trying to take a Keygen off a DVD RW and copy it into my external hard drive, is there a way that i can do this?
I’m not trying to convert it into a video file, the file i’m trying to copy is a data file, it’s a folder that contains a software Key-generator, but it refuses to let me copy it, why won’t it let me copy it?

It’s an USB 2.0 Slim Portable Optical Drive. I tried to install the software but my PC won’t recognize it. How can I use it with my PC?

Respected sir/Madam,
Two days ago my DVD/CD-RW drive was working proparly but today onwards when i insert disk it hangs up the computer when i removed disk and tried to open DVD/CD RW drive in my computer it also hang my computer and when i inserted pan drive there is no any link about pan drive in”my computer” i am trying from morning but still not got any result.Hope you can help me.

What are the difference between DVD R, DVD RW, DVD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW and CD-ROM? What does the - and stands for why not use - for all of the discs or for all the discs?
