Question about USB flash drives?

I have a 512MB Geek Squad flash drive. Is it bad for my computer or the flashdrive if I forget to take it out of the port?

Can I play my iTunes library off an external drive?

My iTunes library is around 7GB in size and the space it takes up is beginning to limit what else I can have on my laptop.
1 CommentI know I can move the location of my iTunes music folder to a different location on my computer, but I was wondering if I could do the same with a flash drive.
My plan is this:
I buy a 10GB flashdrive and move all my iTunes music onto it.
Then I tell iTunes that the music folder location is on that drive.
Then all I should need to do is insert the flash drive into my laptop whenever I want to listen to music. And when I don’t want to listen to music it isn’t cluttering up space on my hard disk.
Would this work?
I don’t want to waste money on buying a flash drive if this idea won’t even work.

Question Details: ie. someone plugs in a cd or a flash drive into my computer … the computer automatically “saves” / “copys” / “steal” the files in those medium (cd/ flash drive) to a location in my computer automatically… without them knowing if possible…

I lost my flash drive with important Excel files. Is there a way to “view” these files on my computer somehow?

….I can see the file I need to look at in the recent documents, but obviously since it was on the flash drive, I can’t just click on it. Is there some chance that my computer made a temporary file backing this up somewhere, and if so, where could I find it?

Every single time i connect the flash drive into ANY pc and go to my pc ,i see the disk but if i try to open it , it says please insert disk to the drive.Now i know the easiest thing to do is to format but i have very important files stored and i would like to keep them if it’s possible.So any suggestions ?

How do you backup Itunes on a flash drive?

I need to reformat my computer and I don’t want to have to redo my whole Itunes. I know you can back up the songs on a cd, but I have so many songs it’ll take forever. Can’t I just back them up on a external hardrive or something? Or is there a program that backs up all of Itunes in one shot?

Could I Download Custom Content And Put It On A Flash drive?

So, my mom’s computer (which I use to play Sims 2) died. She just started the system up from scratch, and, bless her soul, agreed to reinstall all my sims games. All 15. So I was wondering if I could download CC on another computer and back it up on a flash drive, then put it in my mom’s computer and put the downloads in the Sims 2 downloads folder. Would that work?

Flash drive has “write protection” on it how do you take it off?

i tired to put a video on my flash drive but when i did it said “can not Wittie on disk write protection is on remove protection in order to put file on flash drive” it wont let me delete or add stuff on the flash drive . there is no physical switch to turn this setting on and off so what can i do?
