will my dell dimension 3000 desktop accept a 750 gb hard drive (internal)?

i just found out my pc only accepts a max of 2gb of RAM, so i wonder if their is a max on the hard drive itself, and if their is what is the largest hard drive i can use?

Seagate hard drive problems?

I dont know if its me or Newegg.com but I ordered a 500Gb HDD fromt hem. Got it, installed windows, and the checked the size of it just for reassurance and it said it was only “127 Gb”

I returned it waited about a week and got another one installed Windows on it and again it says its only 127gb..

idk if its me or them but this is really annoying!

What could the problem be? Them or something I did?

BOOT FAILURE? WIERD SITUATION. BEST ANSWER GETS 13 POINTS!?

Ok so i have 2 hard drives and a cd rom. And all was working fine until today. I have one hard 40 gb and its my primary master hard drive and i installed xp pro sp3 on it for OS.
the other hard drive 20gb i just use for storage but i think it was NTFS instead of Fat32 and i have no OS installed on it. And this is my Primary Slave drive
And the cdrom is my Secondary master but the cdrom isnt important
Ok so everything was going well and i boot off the 40gb evryday and get whatever i need from the 20gb and i was happy
but today when i started my computer it said boot failure Please insert FLoppy into drive A and it also said that it couldn’t detect my hard drives
so my first thought is that the cables went loose
so i open it and all the cables were fine
so i thought maybe the cable was broken
but i just wanted to test the cable to make sure it was working
so what i did was only use my 40 gb hard drive so i took out the cable for the 20 gb hard drive so that i would only use the 40gb hard drive
and it worked
so my 40 hard drive booted up with that cable fine so the cable wasn’t the problem. so i thought maybe the hard drive was the problem
so i took my 20gb and switched the jumpers from slave to master
and made it the Primary master and since it didn’t have an OS all i wanted to see if it showed up on my BoOT menu
so i plugged the cables in and yeah it showed up on my bios
so now it wasn’t the cable and it wasn’t the hard drive
but i still suspected the cable
so i got a new cable
and still it said boot failure IFDe Primary Drive not detected
and so its not the cable and its not the hard drive
and i h ave valuable info on both of the hard drives?
so what do i do

13 points? this is how.

Hey guys im sorry to say none of these solutions worked i tried removing the cmos battery and kept it put the computer for like 4 minutws and then i plugged it back in didnt work
then i tried removing all teh cables and starting the pc and shtting it down again and pluggin in all he cables didnt work
then i finally tried the other mehod by putting the 20gb as slave master and didnt work

How do I install a second hard drive?

I took an old hard drive that still works out of an old computer and want to put it into my new one. I am currently operating Windows XP Professional w/SP2. This new drive is 30.7 GB and has Windows 2000 on it.

I need to:
A.) Format this drive because i do not want Win2K operating system
B.) Use it

Background:
I first plugged this drive into the computer with necessary cables. I booted: it went through the POST and then to a black screen. Shut down, readjusted jumpers. Same problem. I then took my original drive in the new computer and set it as a master and the new drive from the old computer as a slave but then it entered into Window Setup and next time I restarted entered the PC Recovery Console. Not to worry, this is not a frantic “I dont know what to do call”; i restarted and everything was fine. The BIOS recognizes this drive. Anyone have any pointers on what is wrong?

After it works, I hope to install Windows Vista on that drive and WinXP on the other.

What’s the best way to expand storage space on a tiny computer?

I have a three year old Dell Latitude x300 with only 27 gb available on the hard drive, and I’m running out of space for all my music. What is the best option for storing more files than I currently have room for? I’m on a student budget.

What will happen to the 80 GB Ipods?

I heard about the new ipods that are comming out. Apple is changing from 80GB to 120GB for the classics. So what will happen to the 80GB? Will there be a price drop? How much will it be if there is?
I know that Apple won’t be making anymore 80GB, but what will happen to the ones that are out there now.
