Operating system NOT found?

I am trying to install Windows XP x64 over Windows 7 x86 on my laptop. I press F12 key to go into multiboot menu and from there, i chose my CD/DVD Drive but then it says the operating system not found. I had the same problem when i was trying to install windows Vista x64 because i have Windows 7 x86 on my C drive and vista ultimate x86 on D drive.

What could be the problem? Why won’t it install it and is my Processor capable of running x64? My processor is: Intel(R) core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5750 @ 2.00GHz, 2000Mhz, 2 CORE(s), 2 Logical Processor(s).

I have 4GB of ram and 250GB hard drive capacity so that shouldn’t be the problem.

Any Suggestions on what can i do or what could the problem be?

hello im new to laptops..

i just wanted to buy a laptop that i can get online with. nothing else.i already have desktop compter i have verizon dsl..but i found this laptop on sale at bestbuy for 399.99 its a toshiba satellite with intel celeron . processor 520..
it says it has 512mb..1.6ghz processor..80gb hard drive and windows vista home basic preloaded
im new to laptops and i just want to know if the computer will be fast..all i would install on it is norton antivirus ..i just want to know if the computer is okay ..i just want something i can get on the internet with thats it…

one more thing i called verizon they said i would need a new modem with routing… but .with my laptop would i need a wireless card too…..or can i just buy a wireless card and get online..

with this computer it said i can surf the web in wi-fi hotspots does that mean i can get right online

im sorry for all the questions i just never had a laptop before’

can anyone HELP????thanks

The average computer?

Ok i just bought a advent laptop with 160GB hard drive, 2GB memory , Windows home pre , 1.3 M pixel webcam , 56K Modem v.90. Intel Centrino Duo 1.5GHz. Would you say this is a top end computer , average? or low end? BTW if you can can you please tell me the average computer specifications

Which computer will give better performance?

I have a macbook pro but I’m looking into buying a new iMac. I use my macbook pro for lots of music and video editing so I need all the power I can get on a budget. I’m wondering if upgrading to the iMac will enhance performance at all?
