I’m planning to buy a new external hard disk ( more than 500 GB) for my laptop. I want it compatible with Mac because I’m planning to buy a Macbook next year for university. Any suggestions?

Eee PC 900, Linux system?

I have an Asus Eee PC 900 with Linux, I purchased an external CD ROM drive & I want to install Norton 360. Can i do this or not? The Norton 360 says it’s for Windows XP or Vista.

External hard drive not working?

I recently loaned my Maxtor 500 gig hard drive to my friend so he could back up his computer. When he returned it, i plugged it into my desktop pc to find that it won’t connect. the computer doesn’t recognize it, and the light on the hard drive won’t turn on. I plugged it into my laptop and it functioned just fine, with the light on and file interaction with the computer.
