How good is this laptop and what do some of the things stand for?

Ok, so the laptop is a Dell Latitude D600
-Intel Centrino 1.6 Ghz Pentium 4 Processor
-FREE Windows XP Professional OS (installed with COA Attached)
-1024 mb of total memory
-60G hard drive
-internal wireless g card
-Internal Wifi (Wireless) 802.11 b/g
-OFFICE 2003 Pro (Installed)

And all the other things that you would expect on a laptop…so
what does all that mean and how good is that laptop, and how much would you expect to pay for it

Does Xbox Live downloaded content, once downloaded, require you to be connected to xbox live to use it?

I have downloaded various game additions for games such as Oblivion, Fable 2, Test Drive, Crackdown and many others. However, I am not always able to connect to xbox live when I want to play these games. Often, when I start up a game and load a saved game, I receive an error message explaining that the game requires downloaded content from Xbox live. Yet my under my memory, in system settings, my hard drive displays the downloaded content. And I cannot play my games until the next time I connect to Xbox Live and re-download the content.

How fast is your SATA 3Gbps Hard Drive?

How many MB/sec are you getting on an Intel Desktop?
Can you test something like a 1GB file from one drive to another and to the same drive?
I do alot of I/O and would like to decide if it’s worth it to buy a new computer or just upgrade my I/O capabilities.

I did testing without defragging first with large movie files.
(you can test eSATA if you wish).
If you could specify your CPU and memory config.
I have a p4 HT@ 3.15ghz with 1GB RAM using ASUS P4C800.
NTFS file systems on windows XP sp2

I want to upgrade, but get some general ideas on how much the disk will increase.
I have an internal serial ultra ATA 250mb and an external 320mb USB2.0 drive.
Some numbers to benchmark against (no cacheing of files)
USB2.0 to itself: 8-10MB/sec
internal SATA to USB2.0: 19MB/sec
USB2.0 to internal SATA: 26 - 28MB/sec
internal SATA to itself: 14-15MB/sec

Thanks
